The Artists' Statement
The work that I've completed is on the subject of biblical themes, a culminationthat I’ve illustrated for the past couple of years. Growing up in a Christian home, I was fascinated with the way the Bible was depicted by certain artists such as Michelangelo with his work on the Sistine chapel.
Throughout the years, I began to look more into biblical studies which included the historical context, story symbolism, and the ancient Paleo Hebrew. It is within these studies that the bible came to life in my eyes like never before. However, the way the Bible has been depicted in contemporary illustrations have been not as fantastical as what the stories insinuate. So, with that, I wanted to illustrate biblical stories embracing all of its symbolism, meaning, and historical background.
Special Skills
I am a skilled illustrator, and painter having a focus on ink drawings, acrylic paintings, and pencil drawings. My go to medum in drawings invloves srcatchboard and digital artwork. I am currently studing to get a BFA in Graphic Design so, I amfamiliar with Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Photoshop
